The history of Horizon Flowers
Horizon Flowers is established in 1945 by Theo Karsten as a real family company. The crops that were grown were the traditional vegetables, but also a small field of tulips.
From the first moment Horizon Flowers had some steady increases. In 1965 we started with forcing the tulips under primitive circumstances like artificial light and a heater stoked on oil.
End of the eighties we started with growing the flowerbulbs in France to start with the forcing season in November.
The company Horizon Flowers have had the past 50 years phased extensions. The last extension was in 2007, an investment in 7000 extra square meters greenhouse. This area will be used mostly for water forcing.
